Sandra Palomino has more than ten years of experience working with historical manuscripts, autographs and rare books both via private treaty sales as well as through auction. Ms. Palomino has recently joined Heritage and brings an extensive knowledge base not just about documents, but also regarding the marketing of such collectibles.

She has worked closely both with private collectors as well as institutions here and abroad, most extensively with Fundación Castañe in Madrid, Spain. Her professional experience also includes direct marketing and public relations work with such noted companies as Rapp Collins and Donnelley Marketing.

Ms. Palomino's love of history began during her prep school years at St. Paul's School, and her studies at Yale focused almost exclusively on 19th Century American revisionist history.

One of the nation's best-known experts and auctioneers of historical and popular culture Americana, Tom began his career as a pre-teen in early 1960s Pittsburgh, where he owned and operated half-interest in a retail coin store. Beginning in the 1970s, he published nationally distributed auction catalogs, specializing in political campaign collectibles. A cum laude graduate with a BA degree from Yale University, Tom also attended Columbia University law school. He became a full-time collectibles dealer in 1976, and operated art galleries in Los Angeles and Indianapolis throughout most of the 1980s. He ran The Political Gallery throughout most of the 1990s, which evolved into Slater's Americana. In 2004, Tom joined Heritage Galleries in order to reach an even broader collecting audience. His primary personal collection today is museum-quality African tribal art.

James Gannon, formerly with Heritage Book Shop in Los Angeles, is the Director of Rare Books for Dallas-based Heritage Auction Galleries. A native of Whittier, California, Gannon received his degree in film and video production from the University of California at San Diego, with minors in political science and Spanish literature. After graduation, he worked in the entertainment business as an artist manager, stage manager, and international television distributor. He also crewed on various television shows, commercials and feature films before finding his life's work in the world of books. The majority of Gannon's sixteen years experience in the rare book trade was gained through his association with Heritage Book Shop in Los Angeles. He has a special interest in early printed books, travels and voyages, color-plate books and fine printing, but he has handled and cataloged volumes of all types.

Douglass Brown is a research specialist who has focused on American and British history for the past ten years. While acting as an art agent and research consultant he has been involved in some of the most important discoveries and sales of Civil War and American Revolutionary War material ever to reach the American market. He has also worked in the fields of fine art and antiquities conducting research worldwide. Dr. Brown completed his studies at DeMontfort University at Leicester, England and the University of Oxford, Kellogg College in England and holds an advanced diploma in History. Marsha Dixey has worked in the Americana collectibles business for almost 30 years. She has handled everything from early furniture, quilts and folkart to radio premiums, Disney, and antique advertising. Small advertising collectibles such as pocket mirrors, tip trays and celluloid novelties were a specialty and she is known as an expert in that area. Marsha realized the value in early pre 1896 political china pieces and collected when others were buying campaign buttons.Her interest in American social history has made her an expert in Woman's Suffrage items and Black Americana. Marsha has dealt in premium antique advertising and participated in the Indy Advertising Show, the countries premier show for that genre, for 15 years. She was so respected by other advertising dealer/collectors that she was elected to serve two years on the Board of Directors for the Antiques Advertising Association of America. She has run collector's shows, produced her own catalog auction and been an avid eBayer since 1997.

David Herskowitz began his distinguished career as a dealer in fine gems and minerals in 1988. The avid interest in Natural History, which would change the course of his career, struck when he discovered an insect beautifully preserved in one of his stock of amber nuggets. For many years Mr. Herskowitz owned and directed a business specializing in the importation of amber specimens, before moving on to conduct Natural History auctions in New York. Mr. Herskowitz has rapidly become a leader in the field of fine Natural History specimens from gems and minerals to bones and fossils. He has appeared on CNN, NBC, and ABC, and has been featured in numerous articles appearing in The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and, more recently, in Natural History Magazine.

Sullivan comes to Heritage with a Master's Degree in Cultural Anthropology from the New School for Social Research in New York City, where she studied Primitive Art with Ted Carpenter and Shamanism with Michael Harner. She also worked for 14 years at Christie's, seven of which were spent as head of the American Indian Art Department. From 2000 through 2007, Sullivan managed two auctions a year in that capacity, during which she significantly raised the profitability and reputation of her department.
