Vintage Buffalo Bill Board Game,
15" x 9" x 1", Parker Brothers, Salem, Massachusetts. This dramatic production, copyrighted 1898, would have been marketed during the height of William F. Cody's fame as the western entertainer "Buffalo Bill". The game consists of a lidded box, the interior base of which serves as the playing board. A game piece and a 3" square dial for determining a player's movements complete the outfit. The box lid and game board carry colorful lithographs that perpetuate the highly fictionalized persona of the game's namesake. These graphics are a visual treat and make the game highly collectible today. Overall light aging with the seams on both box and lid beginning to split. Modern tape placed over each corner of the lid.
